WorkWell is a joint initiative from the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care, created to support a healthier, more productive nation. In Surrey, the programme is delivered by Surrey County Council in partnership with local health, wellbeing, employment, and skills providers.

The service offers free, one-to-one coaching for people with health conditions or disabilities, helping them return to work or remain in employment by connecting them with tailored local support.

Many people experiencing issues such as mental or physical health challenges with the guidance of a WorkWell coach, individuals are more likely to return to work sooner—or avoid sickness absence altogether.
